Solved: Spotify render not working
#1
Sad
Hi,

I have 4 Raspberry Pi3 based streaming boxes running with moodeaudio 7.3.0 2021-06-25, withouit any issue up to now, very happy about that  Smile

Just 40 mintues ago I realised that Spotify connect is not working anymore for any of the 4... not with the iPhone Spotify App or the windows based App.

I cannot connect to the devices anymore.

My Spotify Premium account is still active..

and the raspberries are dedected by the app, see picture attached "StbPro" "Wohnzimmer" "Keller"

I restarted all of them, no sucess...

anybody has an idea?

It's weird... maybe they stopped working long ago, and you just realized today...
Assuming the Spotify renderer is enabled in the audio settings and the devices are connected to the LAN, I understand you don't see any of the Pi boxes as devices to cast to, neither on the iPhone app, nor in the web-client; so you could reboot one of them (in order to have a cleaner startup log), ensure it is still "invisible" (just in case...), and post the startup log here (in a CODE block - the 5th icon from right to left here above).

The file is /var/log/moode.log

Probably, though, you might consider updating your machines, as we are now on 8.3.7, and a lot of improvements have taken place. It would be even easier to get such log via browser.

in fact I could find all devices in in Spotify App...

Anyhow it seems there was a kind of "subspace distiortion" in my house, bacause now after almost one hour all of them are working again...

Seemed indeed weird to be a software issue.

Anyway, the update to 8.3.7 is worth considering. BUT. BUT.

Do not forget to read again the setup instructions, as per new changes security-related at OS level, before flashing the image you are mandated to create a username/password (use the Raspberry Pi Imager, as it has facilities for doing it without givin you headache...).
Moreover you can also directly set the wi-fi + passphrase to be ready at first boot without the hassle of using AP-mode to perform local configuration...
