Hi all. I noticed the PCIe bus was set to slow mode so I enabled what the rpi people call PCIe Gen 3 on my RPI 4B. It appears to make a big difference on the sound quality. Everything on the RPI is set to consume the least amount of electricity. It seamed odd that the RPI didn't sound as good as my NUC doing simple things like MPD out through Alsa USB to external DAC.
The SQ is definitely a lot better. Much clearer. Strange but true. Well I might change my mind after extended listening as you do. Cheers.
