Greeting from the Midwest, USA!

Hello all,

I hopped on board Moode to stream Spotify to a pair of DIY speakers I'm looking to tri-amp through CamillaDSP. I'm an artist by training and work in social work. Outside of some rudimentary work on Max/MSP I have no software background. I chose Moode and an audio interface over MiniDSP because I wanted to stream Spotify internally, for economy and because I wanted a rack mounted solution.

Outside of streaming I have a small vinyl collection. Recently been listening to sacred music but love jazz, shoe gaze, techno etc.

Looking forward to learning more about this platform. Making time for my audio hobby is a little difficult these days, but I'm sure to drop in with questions about setting up CamillaDSP. I've attached a photo of the first incarnation of my speaker project.

Cheers,

Yann

Wow, cool looking speakers. I'd love to hear them to experience what having no cabinet does.

That's almost a baffle speaker, right? (TBH is even baffle-less...)
For what I can remember having read here and there, there could be tricks to have good bass; but since I've never heard any, I cannot express any judgement.

Thanks for the comments!

Yes, they are baffleless, once I get them up and running they should provide more pinpoint imaging; although, I would like to experiment with wide baffles in the future.

Actually chose this design because there would be less bass so as not to disturb the neighbors (apartment living). Wider baffles make more bass. No cabinet on the woofer can reproduce the upright bass very naturally so Ron Carter sounds just right.

Cheers
