A way to MoOde wroks with subsonic?
#1
Hi:

I'm a power user of Navidrome, an i was wondering if i can use it with MoOde.

I know that Volumio has a plugin to make it work together (even if i never managed to make it work) so, i was thinking that, maybe, MoOde has a way to make it work as it works Roon and Plex.

And, i have another question: Volumio has a plugin that integrates Bandcamp daily, MoOde has a similar utility??

Thx in advance.

I'm not familiar with navidrome but it probably could be integrated however this would need to be done by another dev because my plate is full. Same with bandcamp. A good project for another dev.

There is a subsonic plugin available for upmpdcli and upmpdcli is already included on moOde so at least one path is possible. Someone already working in the Navidrome ecosystem would have to take it on, though.

Hi!

Thx for the answers! Yes it would be a good project for devs, which i'm not. I'm just a simple user, maybe to brave but with no idea of how to code. So, I let the ideas here, if someone is interested in devellop it.

I have read some notes about the upmpdcli subsonic plugin it seems easy to setup but i'm too afraid to break my MoOde installation, now all my tags are sorted and well and i can use Moode. So, you know, I have Plex, I have MPD, I can have Navidrome too, but i don't know how ;0)

I will ask Navidrome people, as i usually participe in their Discord. Thx for the tip, anyways.

Hello, subsonic plugin author here.
You can install a media server pretty much anywhere your audio files are available, including the same pi where moode runs. If you are concerned about breaking your moode installation, you might want to install the media server using docker. See here for a sample configuration. You will need to install docker upfront of course, maybe refer to this section of the readme file from another project, it should cover you.

Of course you can also simply tune the existing upmpdcli.conf in moode referring to the manual section for the subsonic plugin, it should be totally independent from the moode library.

Let me know if you need help.

I have Navidrome installed on my MoOde server pointing to the same media files as MoOde...

Navidrome does not appear to interfere with MoOde's processes in any way and they both share the resources on the Pi with no issues that I have seen.

I use an andriod app called Symfonium (about the best one out there) to access the Navidrome indexed files and it works with no issues.

You can also access the files outside your network if you set this up securely... I would strongly recommend using Tailscale for that btw... Not open ports on your router...

Hope this all helps... Smile

thx for all the answers
In the end, MPD and Moode with the Pi is quite better for my needs than Navidrome or subsonic. So, i decided to drop out navidrome or subsonic.
I'm very pleased with MoOde and there are any reason, for me, to maintain my Navidrome instance.

If, in the future, i need it i will reinstall it.

Anyways, i use Symfonium to and i'm agree it is the best option.
