Question about DLNA, UPNP, media renderer and media server

Hey folks,

this is not quite related to moode, but I know there are knowledgeable people around so I thought I'd check in with you. I'm looking for the right terms or vocabulary, not for an out of the box solution to my problem.

My initial situation was that I had one RPI running moode and another one running Home Assistant. HA could connect to moode via UPNP and stream music (located on the HA RPI or via Spotify integration) or have TTS output be streamed to moode. 
I could also connect via my Android phone to moode to stream via UPNP. 
I could select moode as the target for Spotify from Android and from my HA instance. 

I then tried to remove moode from the equation, simply because I noticed that my HA instance recognized the USB DAC formerly connected to moode out of the box. 

So now I have a HA instance running Spotify Connect Add-on and the Spotify integration with an attached USB DAC. 
I can stream Spotify from either Android or via HA's web interface perfectly. I added an MPD add-on and now I can use TTS with MPD directly to the attached DAC. 

What would I need to be able to stream from Android via UPNP to HA? 

From what I have gathered so far, I seem to be lacking a media renderer which connects to MPD, right? 
Listening with the latest moOde on a RPI zero w with a MiniBoss DAC PCM5122 32bit 384kHz and a Volt+ AMP on a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 100 speakers.

Thanks for confirming my guess! It was hard navigating all these terms without previous knowledge about the matter. :-)
