Audio System for Golf Cart
#1
I would like to add an audio system to my golf cart that can play local music and provide an option for Bluetooth.

Components:
Raspberry Pi 3B
800x480 HDMI - Capacitive Touch Screen - USB (Not official version)
Bluetooth 5.0 20W Audio Amplifier
Speakers
48V to 12V (BT + Amp)
12V to 5V (RPi and TFT)

I installed Moode with no issues.

I can connect to the BT speaker and play files or a radio station.

Issues/Questions:
1) The interface is not great at this low resolution. Sometimes when the screen is redrawn it covers up other menus/buttons. Is 800x480 just to low of a resolution or can the interface be adjusted to work better?  Larger fonts? Already set to largest possible in the settings.

2) The BT speaker can take a 3.5mm stereo input. I would prefer to use this so it is hard wired. Can I output audio from the RPi's 3.5mm port instead of over HDMI or BT?

3) Can the interface be simplified/customized for a small touch screen? I won't have internet, so can I remove the Radio menu/features altogether?

4) If I end up using a BT speaker, is there a way for the RPi to automatically connect to it when started? Right now I have to search and connect to it each time I power up.

Try the official Pi Touch its also 800 x 480 but there are no issues with buttons being covered up etc., but for your application in a golf cart you should prolly just use your Smartphone. It will be a much better experience. Just keep in mind that the WebUI was not designed for in-vehicle use.

Yes. System Config, Integrated audio, Firmware mode (Legacy). Read the ( i ) help

3) Can the interface be simplified/customized for a small touch screen? I won't have internet, so can I remove the Radio menu/features altogether?

Not possible.

Thats not normal. Once its paired your should only have to connect to it, not do a scan/pair then connect.
Enjoy the Music!
