Introduction

Hi Everyone,

Here is another newbie when it comes to Linux audio but I hope to change that. I am currently setting up my first installation with probably a PI 4, IQ audio Dac Pro connected to a Fosi audio V3 amplifier.

My first challenge seems to be to find out if I besides connected speakers can "stream from Moode to" my sonos system as an alternative audio out, i.e. multi room broadcasting to wired speakers and several rooms with Sonos products.
( I dont want to exclusively listen via Sonos, i.e. use line-in to Sonos, as I also would like my analog out to my wired speakers)
Any tip in this matter would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome aboard.
If you use the Sonos' analog inputs, then no-problem; you'll need a moOde box for every Sonos point, of course.
Then, using moOde's multiroom support you will have a multiroom-SENDER + n multiroom-PLAYERS=>Sonos speaker(s).
Please note, though, that the multiroom sender cannot be a player itself, so 3 rooms = 3 + 1 moOde boxes.

If Sonos can accept an http stream, then maybe you could use that?

MoOde can play to the attached DAC (and so to the connected amp/speakers) and also send ah http stream of what it is playing. If Sonos can read that stream then you can use the Sonos multiroom to send it to all the other speakers. Synchronisation might be off beam though.
