I mean, there could be a bunch of reasons that lead to a crash... It does not reference all the other errors I (and others) are seeing all the time when AirPlay is running (see above).

Sure, but in order to troubleshoot this type of issue someone will need to reproduce it and have the expertise to derive some insights as to what might be happening, otherwise its just a "wild goose chase" which is never a good thing.

Well, yea... I'm just trying to figure out the right lead to follow...
Having read through that github issue I'm not convinced this is the same issue.
This one seems more to the point, but also no help, and a bit stale... https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/5770. Commented nonetheless, let's see.

An interesting observation: the brcm wifi firmware is actually identical in 8.3.9 and 9.3.0. Also tried the old shairport-sync version on 9.3.0, just to rule that out. There must be some difference between Bullseye and Bookworm...

There is a known issue with shairport-sync audio glitches when CamillaDSP is in the audio chain. This issue appears to be caused by incorrect latency being reported back from the CamillaDSP interface.
https://github.com/mikebrady/shairport-sync/issues/1980

The workaround for this is to turn off synchronization in the AirPlay settings screen.
I can confirm that this at least worked for me.

With a Zero 2 W? But generally "works for me" does not mean anything... It's likely that many or most don't have this problem. Otherwise we'd probably have a fix... Wink But apparently there are also a bunch of people for who it does not work.
