USB DAC not recognized - "Device Type Nothing selected"

- Install it onto a known good SDCard.
- Boot up without any audio device or other hardware connected and don't change any Moode settings.

That did it, it's working. Something must have gotten corrupted the first time.

I'm glad too that a simple re-flash solved your issue.

I hadn't read the setup.txt instructions carefully for some time. Looking at them now, I can see how they could be confusing, since moOde as shipped is configured with Audio config/I2S audio device: "None" and MPD config/Device type: "On-board audio device". Hence, there is no need to do anything to the I2S setting when configuring a fresh system for a USB DAC. That's what caught my eye when I read your original post.

But the bottom line is your first flash wasn't successful so everything else is moot.
