Hi,
I found some passive speakers recently, went "I wonder what I could do with these?" and remembered that I had at least one Raspberry Pi 3+ lying around.
Looking at the options to get decent sound out of them, I went for the IQaudio DigiAMP+ which combines both a DAC that isn't horrible (I have another Rasberry Pi running as a Kodi video / media player with the TV and very, very quickly decided that I needed to use the HDMI out audio rather than the use the Pi's 3.5mm output!) and an amplifier that will happily drive the speakers to a higher volume than I am ever going to want.
But what software? I tried balenaSound which worked, but wasn't quite what I wanted. Then I tried moOde and I'm very impressed.
There have been a couple of issues, but those are for another post.
Thank you to everyone involved.
