I recently tried to install of fresh copy of 64bit Moode version 8.3.6 on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB. Used latest version of Raspberry Pi Imager and ran into all sorts of issues getting through the initial setup. Wi-Fi wouldn't function in AP mode or otherwise. Even on Ethernet, couldn't utilize half of the configuration functionality.

Eventually I gave up and tried loading version 8.2.5 from Git. Everything worked as usual and I was able to upgrade to version 8.3.6. I've seen some other posts recently from folks with similar issues. Could there be something wrong with this release image?

You used the Raspberry Pi Imager, and specified a username + password, and bla bla bla, right?

Follow the "SECURITY AND OPERATING SYSTEM (OS) IMAGE" section of the Setup Guide and you should be all set

Makes perfect sense why everything was only partially functional. Too bad the Imager doesn't force you to apply these settings. Marking solved!
