How to play mono files with CamillaDSP EQ
#1
When playing a mono (genuine single channel, as opposed to two channels each with the same content) mp3 with a CamillaDSP config, I get an error instead of lovely music:
Code:
Oct 24 10:00:15.911 ERRO Use of non existing channel 1, module: camilladsp
Oct 24 10:00 : output: Failed to play on "ALSA Default" (alsa): snd_pcm_poll_descriptors_revents() failed: No such device
Oct 24 10:00 : exception: Failed to open audio output
Is there some solution where I can play one or two channel music with a CamillaDSP preset without having to create another preset and selecting that one each time I want to listen to mono files?

(moOde 7.6.1 on a Pi4)

@Sehnsucht yes, you can:
  • Go to the MPD config page in moode
  • Enable the SOx Resampling
  • Make sure the channels selection is set to stereo
  • Leave bitrate and bitdepth to Any
  • Hit the save button and you are good to go

Thanks.  Is this going to do anything "destructive" (that is, anything at all) to the audio signal in the 99.9% of the time that I'm not listening to mono files?

As long as you use stereo files it will not alter the signal.
