TIPS: Stream to browser.
#1
- Go to SETTINGS => Audio, scroll down to MPD Options, and enable the HTTP streaming
- open another browser tab with the HTTP streaming port, e.g. http://moode.local:8000

Note
- moOde must playing, otherwise moode.local:8000 will fail with ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
- The sound is NOT synchronized with the local audio output

You can also use the free VLC player to play the stream. It runs on most platforms and has some nice audio options for example an EQ.

I posted this thread, based on review comments from you, where you stated the information belonged here.

I did not find a way to delete thread, but that would be the proper action.

I am actually quite baffled! I know VLC quite well, and as a client it not nearly as nice as moode audio., I do not understand this constant tendency to recommend other projects instead of making 1+1 be 3.

just think of a moode audio multiroom client using libvlc to play locally not only on rpi ..that would combine the nice well working gui with the effective local audio interface.

You posted about using the HTTP streaming server in moOde and then opening the stream directly in a Browser for local playback on whatever client the Browser is running on.

You can also use VLC on that client to open the stream and also use some of the audio effects in VLC.
