Problem: Unable to use Airplay from Apple Music on Windows
#1
I am running Moode Audio version 9.1.5 2004-11-26.  When I try to play audio from a Windows 11 machine running Apple Music, I get an error saying

"The AirPlay device "Moode Audio" is not compatible with this version of AMPLibraryAgent."

However, I can play using Airplay from Apple Music without error to Kodi media players running on Raspberry Pis.  How do I play from Windows Apple Music without error?  It looks like this is a bug.

Why do you think it's a moode "bug"?
We use stock shairport-sync latest release for AirPlay service.

Weather or not it's your bug or not is not the point.  It's a deficiency.  If you want, I'll call it a feature request.  Either way, it's not doing what a lot of Windows users want.  Redirecting by asking if it's actually a but avoids the actual issue here which is that you cannot play music from Windows Apple Music while other platforms can.

I can see this conversation should just end.
Suggest you post your issue to the shairport-sync repo.

Umm. Took me 30 seconds to find this issue posted to the shairport-sync repo Apple Music: Airplay device is not compatible with...

Thanks for looking into this. It's unfortunate that Shairport compiled for V2 is an inferior product in this regard. Maybe supporting a additional Shareport compiled for Airplay v1 is a possible solution - then, which one is enabled could be selected by the end user in the settings.

Or, for par condicio, you could just ask AMPLibraryAgent developers to include V2 and let the user select.
