Hi
I have been a long time user of moOde to great satisfaction,
thanks to Tim for that.
In December I bought a Digione Signature and a RPI 3+B,
but for several reasons, I havn't got i set up before a few days
ago with moOde 5.2 from image on new Sandisk UHS card.
Now I am struggling with stuttering every 15-30 sec. and it
is a pain listening to. My music is on the same NAS via NFS, as
I always have been using, and everything else is the same,
except the Pi and Digione. I have all set up as it should be
and nothing is indicating any faults. Today I even made a
new install with latest moOde 5.2
Before that I completely rearranged my home-network/router
and reconfigured my NAS to no avail.
The Pi 3B is powered via the Digione S as recommended. A
LPS 2,5A 5V for the dirty side and an 1A 5V Supercap-system
on the clean side.
Before that I had a RPI 2 + Digi+ with just the LPS 2,5A
I think there is something when listening to radio too, but
not as much, and I havn't investigated much.
Does anyone have a clue what to look for ?
Thanks

Hi Cyberguy
I too use a DIgione Sig.....no problems with stuttering.
Are you streaming DSD or something that might require large cpu loads?
Also you can try my OS/MPD tweaks, they are geared to make the whole setup run more efficiently.

I'd like to know if it helped or even if it didn't so, if you use it, please just post a quick reply.

Hi Edward
Thank you for your answer. I will try looking at your suggestion.
However it should not be necessary with the new Pi etc. The
glitches are there no matter what kind of file I play (flac 16/24 bit)
Its difficult to explain how it sounds, but it is shifting from muddy
to clean constant too. My DAC is the build in in Hegel H80 24-192
Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a fault in moOde

BTW the max sample rate of the Digi One is 96Hz

Hi
Just to follow up, I tried af few things, to exclude my network from being
the problem :
Changed to a new CAT6 cable from switch to Pi - no changes
Copied some files to SD card and played from there - no changes
I have also tried switching around with some SMPS (one from Allo) - no changes
(Digi One S will only work (with faults), connected to my Ultracaps-system ?,
connected to LPS or SMPS, there is only some "tics" randomly)
Could one tell me; Is't there any led on the Digi One Signature to indicate
it is powered one ? (there is none on mine).
Is i normal, that the Pi3 B+ lights up like a christmastree with one bright green
and one bright red constant ?
I had looked forward to my "new" system, but think Il'l have to see, if it is
possible to get in contact with Allo (have seen some people having problems)
I will keep you informed.
Thanks

The red led should remain on and steady...any flickering would indicate a power supply problem.
The green light should flicker in proportion to any read-write activity.... normally not much but occasionally such as updating a large song database it could be almost constantly lit.

If this is new behavior, or you’ve only ever tried 5.2, then I would look into this post where Tim gives instructions to try different kernel versions to work around a different problem.

Generally, a solid green LED would suggest either constant I-O to the boot card which would not be normal, or possibly some sort of hardware issue.
There is probably some sort of LED error code document for the Pi's.
