Well, back after a long stretch of not really listening to much music... then finally sitting down a few nights ago for a long session with the Player, my Shiit stack and the Sennheisers, I'm really wondering WHY I HAVEN'T BEEN DOING THIS MORE!! CamillaDSP looks to be a big step in capabilities. Will be looking forward to see what can be done with that in the future. I'd been meaning to ask if the wifi powersave was disabled, and ask to do so or option it, since many wifi powersave implementations are badly borked, and cause hiccups in data transfer. Correct 0db level for HDMI? Coincidentally, I just tried for the first time using the Pi HDMI data output into a AV receiver, as my "DAC", and am powering a pair of home made mini speakers at the desk here... sounds great. Don't know the issue, but good on fixing it. And as a headphone listener, improvements in the crossfeed are more than welcome! And also a Spotify user, I hadn't noticed the crossfeed issue yet, but good on that! Did the fix have any impact on the ability for the crossfeed to pass data beyond the earlier data rate limit? I'm just getting used to the 7.0.1 fixes... we have a lot to look forward to!

Pi's HDMI and Headphone output are +4dB when setting ALSA volume to 100% so what we do in 7.1.0 is use "0dB unit" to set 100% ALSA volume for HDMI only and then it correctly sets volume to 0dB instead of +4dB :-)

Good to have everything at the same level. I have a few minor bug reports I think I see in 7.0.1: I see that the volume control "safety" feature I had asked for (the volume control is limited from jumping up in large amounts, just jumps of 10, to prevent accidental blasting) does not work anymore on my Android phone (Galaxy 8), in Chrome. Volume can jump from 0-100% in a single click. It *DOES* work on the Win10 PC desktop browsers (Firefox and Chrome) as expected. I have seen the occasional page issues, like going into settings, doing something, and after the page refreshes, losing the back arrow that takes you back to the main play page or back a settings page.. Rare, but annoying. I don't recall seeing this before changing to 7.01 from 6.xx Noticed a new "display dB volume" switch in Audio Config, MPD options, nothing changes when toggled, I just see the usual % number. (both Android and PC) Had played around with the aforementioned Pi HDMI output, which I don't see any problem with, but also piping the Moode display out the HDMI into the TV. Beautiful! But, I seemed to notice an issue where if I change inputs to something else, and come back later (it's OK if I do it quickly) the TV seems to think there's no HDMI output anymore, and no screen. Have to test this more, only spent one session with that setup. Not sure if it's a Pi based issue, or the TV. Let me know if you want to move these to a different thread.

Your bug report post for 7.0.1 was moved to that thread.
This thread is mainly a status thread for the upcoming 7.1.0 release.

The integration of CamillaDSP sounds (ha) like great news ! Quick question though, is using a convolution filter (say for room correction) expensive in terms of processing ? Would it run on a RPi Zero W for example ?

The Zero's with their single-core CPU are way underpowered for compute intensive tasks so YMMV.

Hi,
Here's an updated WIP relnotes and some screen shots :-) If user has installed RoonBridge then it will be supported in Audio Config and via renderer management. Code: ########################################################

Hello Tim,
I appreciate your sense for the things that are ultimately really important for the future and the speed with which you implement that. And... the consistency to leave out the things that are only a short term phenomenon (for example MQA). Thanks for that and MOode in general. Norbert |
