sudo reboot
"start music play"
sudo mpd_oled -o 1 -b 21 -g 1 -f 20 -c alsa,plughw:Loopback,1
and...

a couple of questions:
after the reboot the OLED was blank?
are you using SoX Resampling?

Try to:
shutdown
switch off and (after a while(10 sec.)) switch on:
now the OLED is blank?
try to start play music:
are you listening music?
