Solved: Unable to finish build on rpi0w
#1
Been trying for a few days now to get this working. When asked in the build startup to use wifi, it appears to take the correct settings but then corrupts the wifi to the point of even raspi-config can't get it working again. Finally got a OTG cable that works and now have a keyboard I started over and told it not to use wiifi and then manually configured wifi myself with raspi-config.

However now the rpi just shuts off during boot. Got through 3 reboots of the build process and now during boot I see the last line as "[ OK ] Started a high performance web server and a reverse proxy server." and then the screen goes black and the power led on the rpi goes off. A few seconds later the power led comes back on but the rpi is unresponsive.

I'm out of ideas on how to get this working.

The Builder reboots a total of 10 times.

After the 1st boot the password is changed from raspberry to moodeaudio. Subsequent SSH logins therefore use pi/moodeaudio for userid/pwd.

You can always just download the ISO image and write it an SD Card.

What Tim says
If you not sure what and how to just download ready made image and flash that to your card

Not sure how I missed the complete build before. Only saw the text about unable to make complete builds for legal reasons.

Anyway, downloaded it, loaded it onto the card. Now I get to the terminate plymouth boot screen line and dead. Looks like the rpi is still live as the power led is on and blinks a bit indicating activity. But without a screen I can't configure the wifi to be able to connect to it. Or does the stock raspian files on sd card way work?

Revise your Moode player set-up after installing v4.3 ISO using this info:  https://github.com/moode-player/moode/bl.../setup.txt

Eventually try to use a non-Zero RPi (if available) or, even better, use with your RPi Zero this excellent method tested by Soundcheckhttps://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com/20...-port.html

I will try the config file on a fresh image when I get back to this on Monday.

Non zero rpi is not an option. I have the mini boss dac already and the non zero rpi dacs are not cost effective for me. Just trying out different network players right now as the first one I tried did not make me happy.

Still doesn't work.

I copied the image fresh to the sd again, created a file moodecfg.txt with the contents from that guide, entered my AP credentials and nadda.

I get black screen on boot and the rpi0 never gets on the network.

What model WiFi adapter are u using?

Post contents of moodecfg.txt and I'll have a look.

I'd suggest unplugging kbd and monitor, booting a fresh image and then since there is no Ethernet connection and no Wifi SSID/Pwd defined yet moOde will automatically start AP mode. You should see an SSID (WiFi network) named Moode show up eventually on your client (PC, Phone, Tablet). Connect to the Moode Wifi network and then from a Browser http://moode.local or http://172.24.1.1

You can then open Network Config and define your WiFi SSID and password.

Thats just the template moodecfg.txt. You would need to replace MySSID and MyPassword with values associated with your Wifi network.

In any case its much easier to just make use of AP mode.
