Me and my other half first looked at the idea of a network player of music, so we could not only play music off our stereo, but also pick it up elsewhere in the place

The trouble is, the commercial ones were either too expensive, or limited in a daft way. E.gvobe, if we want to connect it to our amp we'd need a DAC, or at least a speaker cable switcher box

So I looked into a Pi based solution. Which maybe the commercial offerings kind of are anyway, and it seemed possible

Thanks to Tim and the pleasant and helpful folks here, I am now listening to music from our stereo with the pi box in its new home

It's not perfect, but that is not anyone here's fault, save maybe me, because the back shell of the Smarti Pi Touch case does accommodate the outputs of a DAC, or even a right angled connector. I sense a modelling saw in its future

Until then, work is over for the week, chill music is on, and a relax before making dinner

Once again, cheers you lot. Happy Winter Festival of choice and a good New Year when it cones
