DSP volume control
#1
I would like to build DSP into the moode player. The DSP will be based on ADAU1467 and connected to the RPi via generic I2S. In this regard, I have questions:
  • How to adjust the volume from the application interface?
  • Will the gain control work when I send a signal from i2s ???
  • Is it possible to somehow control the DSP itself using moode?

moOde already offers DSP by means of CamillaDSP (soon to be upgraded to v2.0), you can adjust the volume from the now-playing view with the circular controller in the middle of the sdcreen (but volume type should be 'software', not sure if this will suit your scenario...

I for one don't know this DSP system you are going to build, so I cannot really tell you whether or not you could control it using moOde.

As @Nutulmentioned moOde includes CamillaDSP which is a powerful DSP engine. If you are not familiar with it refer to the main thread at diyAudio https://www.diyaudio.com/community/forums/pc-based.120/

In any case, building your own hardware DSP is a pretty cool project but there is nothing built into moOde to support it. You would need to develop a custom software module to communicate to your DSP hardware.
Enjoy the Music!
