Reboots Hang
#1
Allo UsBridge Signature
Windows 11.0
Local NAS which is up and running, 17 TB of flac

This appears to be happening a lot more frequently with release 8.3.9, it is the first time i installed the 64-bit version

When i reboot my computer the USBridge hangs.  After a bit, the page displays and after clicking a radio station or system>config it begins to hang.  i was able to start a putty session and got this far (I was trying to issue cmd moodeutl --mpdlog

Code:
Host:  moode
RPiOS: 11.9 Bullseye 64-bit | Linux: 6.1.21 64-bit
Model: Pi-CM3+ 1GB
Audio: Schiit Bifrost 2 Unison USB

       m o O d e   a u d i o   p l a y e r

             Release 8.3.9 2024-02-23
               (C) 2014 Tim Curtis
** To set a new password for your userid type 'passwd'.

jaypa@moode:~ $ bash
jaypa@moode:~ $ m

i was able to type m and the redlight has been pegged since 4:54 PM, it is now 5:04 as i type this (a little later after save)

If I unplug and plug back in the USBridge (after waiting for a bit) and eventually after multiple loops of unplug / plug the system is stable and will be so for days or longer until the next reboot

Probably not a moode issue but at a loss to a fix

Thanks, Jay

Reading between the lines i did some research and found this about MPD - "The first startup can take some time as MPD will scan your music directory."

There is no automatic scan. Database scans/updates are strictly on-demand in moode either via Menu Update library (or Update this folder) or via Library Config, Regenerate library.

Thee behaviors you are seeing are most likely due exceeding several resources limits in MPD and moode due to the huge number of tracks (over a quarter million).
Enjoy the Music!

Thanks for the clarification. I'll be adding tracks all the time as I am a collector of live music and OCD about having every available source. Maybe a pi5 will help? I don't reboot often and will just have to give time when i do.

I do a manual library update every few weeks which could be 20 to 100 more concerts or commercial music (400 to 1200 tracks or s0) that i purchase
