No Headphone output
#1
Okay, I just installed MoodeAudio 9.0.1 on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ (64-bit version) and was working on the usual set up stuff that comes with it, while connected to an old HDMI tv for temp video. This is to be a headless player connected to an old set of computer speakers. SSH working and all that.

Sound plays well through HDMI, but neither raspi-config and Moode's Audio/Audio Output section show the 3B+'s headphone jack, which it did in previous versions. I am not using the audio HAT that I did before on this SBC, so that's unimportant.

Has headphone jack support been removed or is there something I need to do to enable it? I thought that headphone jacks were ready to go out of the box, so to speak.

There is a setting in the configuration which lets you setup a system with "only" the old headphone output (read: no HDMI support, then)
Cannot remember its name / description ATM though.

System Config, Integrated audio
Choose "Firmware mode (Legacy)"

I don't actually know whether HDMI (video) will work in this config. Never tested that.

@Joseph.Barrow let us know :-)

OK, I did that. Sound works through headphone jack now.

HDMI Video works but with some laaaaarge font size after hotplugging the HDMI cable switched from a RockPi to this RPi. Attached a pic of that, if it matters, or just for curiosity's sake. Doesn't affect the playing music to do that hotplugging.

Thanks!

Hotplug HDMI doesn't really work on RaspiOS yet. Reboot and you should be all set. Make sure the display is on when you do that.
