Rotary Encoder settings and reboot.
#1
Afternoon all,

I have my rotary encoder running with these settings : 10 1 5 23 24.  This gives me a nice snappy response to a twiddle of my knob (nurse!) with a 5 step movement on one click, but after a reboot I get a one step movement on one click until I go to the settings and stop and start the encoder.  Also, there's an "executable bits" warning in the journal when the encoder starts.

Trivial stuff, but it's a bit quiet on the forum at the moment so I thought I'd bring it up in case Tim is getting bored Big Grin

Odd.

Are the encoder params correct in the file /lib/systemd/system/rotenc.service ?
And are there any errors in the output of systemctl status rotenc ?

Apologies, I wasn't paying attention properly. It wasn't after the reboot, it was the restore I did just before the reboot. The default settings were in the service file after the restore, but the UI showed my modified ones, probably from the browser cache or something. It all works perfectly well over a normal reboot cycle.

Looks like the rotenc_params variable is not in the restore :-0

I'll fix.
