Yeah, but I just rebooted my moOde 5.3.1 (Stretch) and radio started playing as soon as the moOde UI came back up again in my web browser and I could click "play".
So, while I don't doubt that haveged pumps up entropy on headless systems, I do doubt that low entropy is the root cause of your long delay time.
This is a puzzler for sure.

FYI - I'm running the moOde player in WiFi client mode.
