So which "I2S Audio Device" choice on the Audio Config page works? From the minimal Abacus specs of the AroioDAC I'd guess "HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro" but inquiring minds want to know for sure
As an aside, this board bumps my count of commercial products containing the TI PCM 5122 chip to 16 (pretty much all are in moOde's database). The various reactions of reviewers to the sound they hear from these different products illustrates how much the result depends on all the circuitry and layout which surrounds the raw DAC chip. Caveat emptor.

In the documentation hifiberry-dac is specified as the driver. The driver was active but no sound.
After that I tried a few other drivers. I simply had no sound ....
In Volumio forum someone had used the driver hifiberry-dacplus ....
After a reboot came the sound ....
