Hi Tim,
made the update via the "in-place update" and everything went OK to me (just had to re-edit the /etc/rc.local file).
On a Rasptouch + 7inch screen and ir control (via irexec).
Just a remark for a future update.
The new classification by year is a good choice but I usually prefer to have a classification by Artist first then By Year. 
So It would be nice to add a fourth choice with "Artist/year" for coverview
