What Tim proposed would be a great test for a possible interface problem
WiFi works a treat with moOde 6.4.0 on my RPi4B. I use the 5GHz band because it's got lots of channels and is still relatively uncrowded here. I suppose I ought to try the 2.4GHz band to see if there's enough mutual interference from all the other devices in the vicinity to cause audible problems with moOde. mañana

One option is to switch to the Comfast WiFi adapter and use the 5gHz band :-)
