I join this conversation to request the same. I like you approach, eusii, and I would like to extend it to any device, by configuration, or at least to touchscreens.
I have a Raspberry running moOde with a Primoni Hyperpixel 4-inch touchscreen inside a box, so my children can listen both Spotify and the music in the family NAS as desire.
I love moOde over other solutions, like Volumio, since it's much more powerful, more customizable, more Raspbian standard-based and complete, but, on the other hand, its UI is not properly simplified and adjusted to small screens/touchscreens as the ultra minimalistic design of Volumio. This issue makes it very difficult to use for my children and always asks my help for leaving menus and be aware where they are, although their father thinks this is the best solution in a technical sense.
Thus, I would like an improvement in this way, so it is the best technically and with the most user friendly UI.
