Tried your suggestion on a 2CD album. Moode still displays and plays as described earlier:
01-01 > 02-01 > 01-02 > 02-02 etc
Since no-one else seems to have this issue, I guess a re-installation is what is needed.
It will be a quite inconvenient, if all CD-no. tags need to be changed, even if I found a script that could do it. iTunes continues to name ripped album the old way, so new albums would have to be first ripped/added, then removed, then renamed, then added anew. It is feasible this way, but not desireable.
