Found this pair of Kenwood powered speakers.....old school...no surface mount components !!...all discrete...Big Heavy Aluminium (Aluminum to you lot) base for heat-sinking the amplifier chip.... $2.50 pair
2-Way with the low-mid driver surround totally munted but the tweeter in 'top' condition !!
I had a pair of Wharfedale Modulus Cubes and with a bit of Samurai-tin-snipping their drivers were made to fit... $ 5.00/pair
with a cheap used DAC...$5.00
Still running in but this pair and the DAC make for a fine 'kitchen-system' all up total $12.50 (US equivalent)
