Thanks for the super-quick reply. I found the required configuration setting (I missed it before) - seems to be working now.  I was looking under Audio settings, but found what I needed under MPD. Clearly I need to peruse the documentation some more.

Now I'll have to figure out how to get my local favorite NPR station added (WBEZ Chicago) .. guess a matter of finding the appropriate stream URL.

Truth be told audio configuration could be made easier. Currently it's a bit compartmentalized with the I2S and MPD audio out configs being on separate screens. Ideally there should be one place where the audio output device is selected. I'll add to the TODO list.
