Problem: Tics when playing high-resolution PCM files
#17
@carmol

As I reported to you privately, I had essentially the same results as Tim reports when I played your tracks in various circumstances.

OTOH, I clearly heard the glitches in the recording of them you subsequently provided. You reported in your message #3 that the glitches disappeared when you played your tracks from local (SDCARD) storage so I assume this latter recording was made while playing the tracks from local attached USB HD drive.

It's been my experience that problems such as this one rarely occur because "on Raspberry USB ports are not indipendant but share bandwidth". However, you can easily test this hypothesis by following @DRONE7's suggestion and try playing the same tracks from a local USB memory stick.

If you have a powered USB hub at your disposal, you could also try connecting the USB HD drive through it to your moOde player. Such hubs provide extra signal isolation.
