dBpoweramp and Mp3tag work fine; I've used them both. One does have to make sure various settings are consistent with the desired output file format. A trivial example: FLAC files should not have ID3v2.3 metadata tags bolted on but it's easy to overlook this when using Mp3tag. ((See, for example, this 2018 thread and especially my post #20 and following in that thread).
If you don't want to upload a file then at least try this. From moOde's command line use the file command on the troublesome file.
Take, for example, the "LR Channel and Phase" test file that ships with moOde:
If this command does not return "FLAC audio bitstream data" but instead ""Audio file with ID3 version 2.3.0, contains: FLAC audio bitstream data..." then you have the mixed metadata problem .
Other problems can arise. That's why I still suggest you make a file available to Tim and me.
