Ok.With my allo boss i used to power off without shutting down. That could have been the issue. However the reason i do so nowadays is because if i shut down..then in the next power cycle it doesnt satrt up automatically unless i click and hold the hardware button on the ALLO.It sometimes feels like a hit or miss as sometimes it starts late etc etc.So i went back to power off/on without shutting down.Though before shut down i do disconnect airplay or any streaming to it.Btw in india due to quick power failures etc anyways it switches off without a graceful shutdown.
Mine is the san disk class 10 32GB card.Over the years i have seen both sandisk ultra and samsung evo going bad.I will try WD or HP this time and go for a 16GB/32GB.
Pulling the plug typically doesn't cause any issues. Ive done it many times and we also have the occasional power outage and all the electronics seem to be ok.
Similar to @TheOldPresbyope' I've also used SanDisk Ultra 10's for many years and have only had a couple failures.
After you re-flash try booting the system up with only an Ethernet connection to give you a baseline for boot time. If it's still really long then try the card on a bare Pi connected via Ethernet to eliminate any issues with the Boss 2 hardware.
