This has never happened to me with any model Pi.
If I were seeing kernel messages like "Workqueue: events_freezable mmc_rescan' and all those mmc related messages I likely would assume there's a problem with the uSD card.
You may find some enlightenment in this issue discussion: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2810 although there are a lot of things said there I believe are misdirected.
I recently was made aware that having cards with capacity larger that the ca 8GB minimum required for moOde is a good idea. It allows more headroom for the card's built-in wear leveling routines to work. Thankfully, these days 16GB/32GB cards are the most available sizes. New, first-tier brand (Samsung, SanDisk, etc) cards are best.
