Heavy CPU use with HDMI LocalUI, normal?
#2
When it comes to LocalUI the lowest CPU utilization occurs when displaying CoverView with one of the static backdrops for example the Linear Gradient. On one of my systems it's < 10% CPU utilization using moodeutl -m. If I run top and use the "1" option to display the cores it looks lsomethingike below.

Code:
%Cpu0  :  5.8 us,  1.0 sy,  0.0 ni, 93.2 id,  0.0 wa,  0.0 hi,  0.0 si,  0.0 st
%Cpu1  :  8.1 us,  1.3 sy,  0.0 ni, 90.6 id,  0.0 wa,  0.0 hi,  0.0 si,  0.0 st
%Cpu2  :  6.0 us,  1.0 sy,  0.0 ni, 93.0 id,  0.0 wa,  0.0 hi,  0.0 si,  0.0 st
%Cpu3  :  5.7 us,  3.0 sy,  0.0 ni, 91.0 id,  0.0 wa,  0.0 hi,  0.3 si,  0.0 st
There is a Prefs setting in the CoverView section named "Automatic display" that can automatically show CoverView on the attached display.
If the main UI with the knobs and Queue is being displayed the lowest CPU utilization happens when the "Now playing" icon is turned off. The setting is in the Playback section of Prefs.
Enjoy the Music!
