Thank you all for your responses.
I am ONLY using SD cards from quality/renowned brands (samsung/sandisk).
I think, currently I have a samsung 32GB ssd in my raspberry.
As to the powersupply: as I am powering the pi plus the 7" screen plus the audiophonics hat, I have a 7.5V 6A powersupplu attached.
That should deliver more than enough juice.
I also observed something else: as long as the pi is playing music, it is not freezing; it seems to be an issue when it' s on, but not in use for a while.
I will do a reinstall of the SD card; lets see if that improves matters.
