Hello all.

Hi.

I just set up Moode on my main system, (Pi 3B/DigiOne, Marantz DAC/pre Parasound Amp & Jordan Watt speakers) putting it back in use (as an audio player) after removing the player from the system after the release of Volumio 3. And it sounds really good.

(Background: I moved to a house in a village and later got a job in the capital which is too far to commute, so I'm living in a hotel and spending the odd weekend at my house).

On my previous visit I set up Moode on my secondary system (Pi 0W/Adafruit I2S Amp plus a single Kef Egg). And that sounds great, especially given the cost (Under £30, including £5 for the Kef several years ago, and I'm just using some random chinese phone charger on it).

I had the main system streaming Dark Asylum Radio while I worked remote, and in the evening connected to my NAS (once I remembered what the shares were), and stayed up far too late listening. (Well perhaps not, it was Friday night).

It has been too long to make any comparisons between Moode and Volumio for SQ, other than Volumio played music from my NAS noticeably poorer than it played streaming radio and so I ended up using local files on a big uSD. Which was fortunate, because I snapped the uSD extracting it from the case. So I was also very pleased to discover Moode works fine from USB only.

Another thing I really like about Moode is that it can play from Bluetooth, which frees up an input.

Volumio 3 had messed up on my Pi 0W, (non functional) and I tried it on a separate test device, and it wanted signing up to get the features that were previously simple tick boxes. It also was not a simple upgrade but required a fresh install. Since I wasn't there often, I gave up and removed the systems.

Earlier this year I bought myself a Pi 400 when my job went permie, (which I'm typing this on, on Manjaro) and noticed Moode on the imager and gave it a try.

I currently have 7 Pis. The others being another 3B in a standard case (in my hotel room), a 0W (at my house, unused as yet) an 8GB 4 (lent to work for a project) and an original 256MB (currently at my mum's house in Scotland, I'm wondering if that will work with Moode, since it is in a media player case.)
