The ".local" top-level domain is a signal to the operating system to use multicast DNS (mDNS) to resolve the symbolic hostname. This means the OS and browser you use to access the moOde UI must support mDNS. Android, in particular, does not provide mDNS service to the browser. That, unfortunately, is an issue external to the moOde project.
