I have come across a similar issue, but only with radio stations (in my experience, specifically only with BBC radio stations). I have the latest version of moode installed and it works absolutely fine with mp3, flac, etc. Other radio stations play fine. But the BBC ones play for a bit, and then the stream stops (but the moode UI gives the impression it is still playing). Before the recent update to the BBC stream URLs this happened a little bit with the 320k streams but never with the international (128k?) streams, and recovery was usually possible by selecting a different stream to play from the radio list. Since the BBC URL update it happens much more frequently and with both the 320k UK streams and the 96k international streams, and moode cannot be recovered to a working state through the UI, it has to be restarted.
I don't have any logs to provide as I've managed to lock myself out of my moode by deleting a ssh public key - eventually I'll find the time to take out the SD card and fix the issue by mounting the filesystem on my laptop, but for now I'm just providing this report as a data point. I've be very surprised if it was a hardware issue at least in my case as everything except these radio streams plays fine, and the hardware is very standard (a HifiBerry HAT, can't remember the model offhand).
