[SOLVED] Red dot on top right corner of the screen

I too had a puzzling dot for weeks before I worked it out
To make it worse mine was there because I'd set the clock to run a library update just to see how it worked. I'd then picked a time to run it when my NAS was off and was puzzled as to why my library was empty each morning.
