[SOLVED] local UI gone after changing host/player name

I have had this happen twice, it is repeatable. 
 I set up a fresh install using the raspberry pi imager and left the default username as "pi".  When Moode is up and running, everything seems ok.  I have a 7 inch touchscreen locally that is working fine until I change the host/player name in the web UI to something else (the web UI does not like the two character name).  After I do this, the UI is no longer displayed on the touchscreen, it simply displays the console text. The web UI still works fine.  Anyone else seen this?  Is there a fix?

Whats the new host name?

I have tried it with two different host names "moode" and "lefley" (my last name).  I can still ssh and the web UI is fine.
