Dedicate CPU core for MPD
#7
Another thing I want to try is to use only one core of a 2W. Using maxcpus=1 in /boot/cmdline.txt . Unfortunately, it requires a reboot, and can't be changed back to four cores during operation. I think I hear less noise with a single core Zero W compared to a four core 2W. Just playing files without any additional processing functions (CamillaDSP or SoX) seems to require very little CPU power. It's library management and other Moode functions that need more CPU power. Also, if future 32 bit Moode versions won't be developed, the 64 bit 2W would still be viable for Moode updates.
Hardware: RPi Zero W | Allo Kali | ProtoDAC TDA1387 X8 | PGA2311 | Icepower 500ASP | Harbeth SHL5
Software: Moode 8.3.3
Source: Win 10 NAS
