I have some questions:
- Did you follow the procedure reported on this GITHUB?
- Does the test on the point 2 run (a couple of bar moving on the putty screen)?
- Would you please provide some additional infoes about the 5 inch waveshare lcd display?

tvservice -l
tvservice -s -v 0
tvservice -s -v 2

- Would you please show the "/etc/alsa/conf.d/_sndaloop.conf"?
- Would you please show the "config.txt" in the PeppyMeter directory?

Looking toward moOde 9.0.0, tvservice is not available in Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. The whole /opt/vc directory is gone. Just a gentle reminder
