In the meantime, you have the option of running the Spotify app on your iPhone and streaming the output to moOde via either Airplay or Bluetooth.

Airplay and BT are low quality. Spotify is already compressed, and I don't want to make it worse. I will hear it on my system.
Moode shouldn't be this difficult. There's nothing unusual about my setup - Pi3B, Allo DigiOne, Windows 10. It should just work.
I cant work on this anymore so I'm going to switch to Volumio. I may try moode again when a new version comes out, but if Volumio works then I'll probably have no reason to switch back.
