Yes, emphasis was on decent. An Alarm clock that doesn't play if the single file is not in the queue is basically a disaster waiting to happen if you rely on it.

That the alarm clock doesn't load and start playing a playlist instead of a single file and whatever is in the queue is mindboggling, but then again there doesn't seem to be many people interested in an alarm clock so the devs spend their time on more important features.

I have an alarm clock plugin with as much alarms as you want with start and stop timing and day selection and playlist selection which works on rune with cronie and MPD. If possible I would like to port it.
