Thank you, I have connected the newly built DAC today but obviously I made a mistake somewhere. I checked the 40-pin header for shorts as instructed, checked soldering everywhere all looks solid (only one of the Vishay may have less than ideal soldering but I do not want to resolder to avoid frying the Vishay) but seems ok under 10x magnifier. I used heatsink clips on Vishays.
Where do I begin to look to troubleshoot? I know it is a simple DAC but obviously not for me :

To rule out a moode configuration issue:

Reboot and then post the contents of the startup log.

The log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from  any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.
