So far I haven't been able to determine the USB chip used in the Black Dragonfly.
However, I tried switching the Black model for a Red one (https://www.audioquest.com/products/dragonfly-red), and all pops/clicks/scratches have been gone for several days. I still wish I knew how to avoid this issue on the Black DF, but for now I'm content.
