Any generic DAC settings will work. ProtoDAC does not identify itself to the OS. You can also install Moode, use the named I2S DAC ProtoDAC TDA1387 X8, and then use the Squeezelite renderer in Moode.  That way you can easily compare the two.

Moode has much better sound quality.
