I' having the exact same problem described by the opening post
I see this thread is marked as "SOLVED", but am I right to gather that the solution was ultimately not to use this feature on the fritzbox and that thefore the problem was not really solved?
I'm adding my 2 cents: I have 2 older fritzboxes (model 3490, for years the top of AVM range and dismissed around 2020 although updatet until 2023) and for years they have worked flawlessly with older releases of MoodeAudio and Volumio.
I fail to grasp how and why they should not work with newer Moode releases, but as I understand it it is being assumed that the data transfer rate is not fast enough for Moode to scan the library
Is that even possible since there are no time requirements in terms of scanning? The library is only scanned upon setup and on demand later, what does it matter if it takes some time more as long as Moode does scan it?
This is of course not to criticize Moode or those who make it happen. I'm only grateful, but I do wonder why things aren't easier rather than more difficult than years ago. Basically, it's the whole idea of retrocompatibitly.
Having said that could please @muddiver explain what it is that he did to solve the problem?
I read you configure a share on a debian-based system running pihole, but I don't know what it means.
If you'd be willing to provide explanations I'd be most grateful. Or, before anything else: does your solution imply any hardware other than the fritzbox, the hard drive, and the Pi where you installed moode? like a second Pi, possibly running this pihole that I'm not familiar with?
If another Pi is needed, may be I'll just buy a second-hand NAS if that does the trick.
